What Is Chiropractic Health Care?
Chiropractic health care believes that all parts of the body
are a system working together for total health. Modern chiropractic celebrated
its centennial in 1995 and is the most widely used alternative healing method
in the western world.
Chiropractic care works because the brain stem and spinal cord are the primary
pathways for nerve impulses to and from the brain. Messages back and forth
through these nerves control the health and function of virtually every other
cell, tissue, organ, and system of the body. Chiropractic works to clear neuro
pathways so your body can heal, and you can be free from pain.
Good health is a combination of body function, nutritional balance, emotional
balance and managing stress. Many everyday things can cause the bones to loose
their normal motion or position. This sets off a chain reaction affecting the
spinal bones, nerves, muscles, soft tissues, and results in degenerative
changes throughout the body. Chiropractic care restores and maintains body
function by identifying body imbalances while correcting improper nerve
functioning, and spinal misalignment.
Dr. Rogers uses a variety of evaluations to identify the problem and a variety
of treatments to help restore your body function to the best of its ability to
accept healing. Regular chiropractic care is a highly effective method for
regaining and maintaining total health.
What Can You Expect from Chiropractic Treatment?
Health history and consultation. Treatment starts with a
complete health history to discover old injuries, chronic problems, and present
symptoms.
Examination tests and x-rays. A standing x-ray of the spine is taken to
show the spine in its natural weight-bearing state. Subluxations are determined
by careful analysis of the x-rays, palpation of the soft tissue of the spine,
range of motion studies, and other chiropractic tests. Other tests include:
dietary evaluation, body fat analysis, and reflex testing.
A caring and knowledgeable doctor you can talk to. After Dr. Rogers has
studied your health history, x-rays, and evaluations, he will meet with you to
explain the results of the exam and recommend a treatment plan. A complete
information panel and other instructional aids are available so that all
questions can be answered.
Chiropractic correction and treatment.
The first adjustment begins to restore the vertebra to their natural position.
The soft tissues, the muscles and ligaments are stretched when the vertebra is
in an unnatural position, so these tissues must have time to "rehabilitate."
Normally, proper muscle tone, ligament position, and the shape of the vertebrae
will keep the vertebrae in place. Most patients will have a treatment period
ranging over a couple of months.
Professional therapeutic massage. Massage is an important adjunct to
chiropractic treatment and optimal physical health. Dr. Rogers has brought
together a massage team that is professional, competent, and caring.
